Music and drawing room competitions (the latter won by Mrs Brooking, sen., and Miss Dorothy Warner) occupied the evening pleasantly. The rooms were decorated with peonies, ivy geranuinis, and daisies, and a dainty supper was served during the evening. Many sincere wishes were expressed for the future happiness of the guest, who leaves for America shortly to be married. Last evening a very enjoyable musical party, arranged by Miss Duffy. Chester Street, was given in the Catholic Girls' Hostel, Cranmer Square, for the Xo. 3 Queen in the forthcoming Carnival of Merriment, Miss Moya Hayward. A good programme was given, the dining-Toom being arranged in draw-ing-room fashion, an 1 beautified with roses and daisies. The queen's colours —blue and white —appeared conspicu- * ously amongst the decorations. The evening was concluded with the serving of a tempting supper.
