NOTES. The secretary of the Merchant Service Guild in New Zealand I Captain K. A. Macindoe) has received a letter from the secretary of the Imperial Guild, stating that foreign born oflicers and shipmasters' are now not eligible for membership in the Home guild. The crew of the coastal steamer Wootton left by the Monowai on Saturday evening, in order to join their vessel, which has been laid up on account of the seamen's strike. The Wootton is due to leave Wellington for Lyttelton to-day with a cargo of guano.
