DIED OF WOUNDS.
RIFLEMAN A. A. DEY. Mr A. Dev, of Christchurch, has received private advice that his elder son, Rifleman Arthur Alexander I)ey, has died of wounds. Rifleman Dev was in his 20th year, and had enlisted when he was under 18 years of atje. He was born in Dunedin and was educated at the Caversham, Macandrew Road, and St Clair Schools, and the Otago Roys' High SchooL After he commenced attending the High School he won a junior National Scholarship, being third on the list for Otago. He enlisted in June, 1915, and went away with the Main Body of the Rifle Brigade. He was on outpost duty at the time the Brigade met the Senussi. He has been fighting in France ever since the Brigade landed there. He was in the signalling section of the 2nd Battalion. The first message received by his parents stated that he was wounded, and admitted to hospital on June 7, and progressing well, but apparently the wound was more serious than was at first thought.
