APPLIES TO IRELAND. DEPUTY-DIRECTOR TO BE APPOINTED. Austialian anil A'./ CabU Association. LONDON. March 12. In the House of Commons the amendment moved by Mr J. P. Farrell (Nationalist, Langford North), to exclude Ireland from the operation of the National Service Bill, was defeated by 148 votes to 76. Mr R. Hazleton (Nationalist, Galway North) moved that a separate Director-General be appointed for Ireland. Mr H. E. Duke, Secretary for Ireland, said that the Director (Mr Neville Chamberlain) had agreed to delegate this work to a representative who was entitled to the technical status of representative of the Director of National Service in Ireland.
