AN ENEMY ATTACK FAILS.

Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received March 9, 2.30 p.m.) PARIS, March 8. A French communique states: — There is lively artillery fire and patrol encounters in the region of Moulinsoustouvent, between the Oise and the Aisne. Detachments penetrated German trenches northeast of Ember Menil and Loraine, and inflicted severe damage. An enemy attack near Seppois-le-haut, Alsace, completely failed, leaving prisoners. Our rcconnaisances inflicted losses on the enemy in the direction of Hilsenfirst.
