LADY LIVERPOOL FUND.
The quarterly meeting of the Lady Liverpool Fund was continued yesterday after The Sun went to press, Mrs C. Chilton occupying the chair in the absence of the Mayoress (Mrs H. Holland). Mrs Hastie. reported on the "bottleoh" campaign, which promised a return of £6OO, when the returns were totalled lip. Mrs Chilton remarked that the quantity of foodstuffs sent in the soldiers' parcels was now almost double that sent previously, this being in consequence of the shortage of foodstuffs at Home- She also showed samples of pickles made at the Normal School for soldiers' use, a donation of 31 dozen bottles having been sent in by this school.
It was reported that the Art Society was giving half the proceeds of their art union to the Lady Liverpool Fund, and were also allowing the committee to have an afternoon tea stall at the Art Gallery during the exhibition, for the benefit of the fund. It was also stated that it was contemplated to have a stall for foodstuffs at the Art Gallery, for which donations would be welcomed.
Mrs Bean asked that the supply of handkerchiefs should be kept up, as (iOOO were required every month, and said that it was a ease of ' 'aio handkerchiefs, no parcels." The parcels, of course, are always tied up in handkerchiefs.
