Mrs A. Reeves (Men vale) is the guest of Mrs F. Millton,- Geraldine. Mrs J. Loughnan (Wellington) is staying with Mrs H. Devenish-Meures, Christehurch. Mr and Mrs H. M. Gore (Wellington) are the guests of Dr and Mrs Irvine, Christehurch. Miss Blakeley (Christehurch) is visiting Wellington. Liout. and Mrs H. Mackenzie Douglas, who have beeu touring Hie South Island, returned to the north last Saturday, and have gone to Wanganui for some days. Lieut. Douglas takes up his duties at Featherstou Camp at the end of the week. Mrs Douglas will remain at Featherstou, to be near her husband.

Her Excellency the Countess of Liverpool attended the Selinsky-Amadio farewell concert on .Saturday night. Professor and Mrs Blunt accompanied her. Major and Mrs Sleeman (Wellington) are the guests of Mrs 11. J. Beswiek. Miss Anderson and Miss Mueller (Christehurch) left on Saturday evening for Wellington, on holiday. Tho "Bulletin" announces that Dr Jessie Maddison (Christehurch) has been appointed surgeon at the Wharn eliffe War Hospital, Sheffield. Miss Cvonin (Christehurch) is visiting Wanganui. Miss Gwen Neeve, Christehurch, is Tisiting friends in Nelson. Miss Maud Frostick (Christehurch) is staying with her sister, Mrs George "Webster, Timaru. Mrs Ernest Le Cren returned to Timaru on Saturday, after a visit to this f.ity.

Mr and Mrs Percy Stainton (Auckland) are visiting Christehurch. Mr and Mrs J. Mcßae (Timaru), the Misses Gill (2), of Oamaru, and Mr and Mrs W. T. Smellie, Green Island, are amongst the guests at the Clarendon. Mr and Mrs Bambery entertained the members of the Christehurch Ladies' Amateur Swimming and Life-saving (Hub at their summer residence, South Brighton, yesterday. Luncheon and afternoon tea were served, and the jßjuests spent a thoroughly enjoyable time. Mr Bambery explained that Mr Billson had entertained the members of the club at South Brighton each summer. During Mr Billson's absence on active service, he felt it a privilege as well as a pleasure to carry on the custom.
