TERRIBLE SUFFERINGS OF RUSSIAN WOUNDED.
SUBJECTED TO AWFUL BARBARITIES.
UNARMED MEN MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD. lleuter's Telegrams. (Received February 10, 9.2. r > a.m.) PETROGRAD, February 17. A Russian commission of inquiry into German atrocities reports shocking cruelties. Unarmed wounded men have been murdered in cold blood, prisoners of war burned.alive, and Sisters of Mercy violated. Explosive bullets were used in enormous numbers, and large quantities have been discovered. «■ The sufferings of wounded soldiers were horrible, the enemy pouring corrosive fluids over them. The report mentions that German Red Cross, men twice shot with a revolver wounded men wlio asked for bandages. With a view to extracting information from a Cossack, Germans connected an electric needle with his wounded leg for half an hour, but he heroically persisted in keeping silence. This was repeated on the two following days, and then red hot irons were applied to his feet. The Cossack eventually escaped.
