AN ANNIVERSARY.
At the Linwood Presbyterian Chureli the first anniversary services were held recently. On Tuesday evening the anniversary social was held, the Rev. J. Paterson occupying the chair. Songs were Ming by Miss McGregor and Messrs 11. MacLeod and.]. Boyd, and Rev. Mr Paterson gave a recitation. The Misses Gibb played piano and violin solos, and Mr Kaynor White rendered musical monologues. During the evening Mr J. Teunent (missioner in charge) and Mrs Tennent were presented with a very handsome case of cutlery on the occasion of their silver wedding. The Rev. J. Paterson made the presentation, and in doing so re ferred to the many good qualities of the recipients, lie stated that the presenta-! tion was given by friends in St. Paul's,: Richmond, New Brighton, and Linwood congregations. Messrs P. Hercus and R. II Wilson, in happy speeches, congratulated Mr and Mrs Tennent on the success o." their work, and also on their attaining their silver wedding. Mr Tennent suitably responded.
