We captured 500 yards of trenches and the liquorice factory at Kutel-Amara. To the right we are making steady progress. We have a new line over a frontage of more than 6000 yards, the enemy being pushed back 800 to 1200 yards. There have been heavy Turkish casualties.' The liquorice factory is a very strongly fortified post on the western siilo of Kutel-Amara, inside the Tigris loop.
