CLEARING THE DESERT. High Commixxianer't Cahle. LONDON, February 9. The War Office reports:—Operalions against the main forces of Snycd Ahmed's Senussi in the desert were successfully concluded. We attacked the enemy, who destroyed a large quantity of ammunition" and lied. We captured an enemy convoy in the Munasib Pass and ambushed' the leading party of the Hying enemy. Saved Ahmed, at the head of the main body, was forced to strike southwards into the waterless desert. These operations are a severe blow to the Senussi, whose main body was surprised and defeated and forced to retire into the desert. Their casualties reached 2(H) killed and wounded. We captured large quantities of stores and ammunition.
