RED CROSS FUND.
The monthly meeting of the St. Albans Red Cross Branch was held on Wednesday. The. secretary reports the following list of goods sent in since resuming on January 17:—Pyjamas 25, shirts 15, knee cap 1, face cloths 139, treasure bags 21, mufflers 22, bed jackets 12, girdles 1, bed so:c 8, slippers 12, swabs 1800, handkerchiefs 80, jug covers 12, bandages 21.1, draw sheets :!0, waistcoats .'{, manitails 70, pillow cases 12; total, 255(5. Also 23 combs and 7 doz bachelors' buttons, 2 cakes. £2 has been promised monthly for soldiers' comforts. A request was also made for comforts, including fruit, eggs, and vegetables for sick in hospitals at, Trcntham, Foatherston, and Hanmer; also cakes weekly for military ward in Christchureh. Thanks for donations for the latter are due to Mrs R. Jones (pre sident), Mrs J. J. lleasley, and Mis Moore, and books from Miss Field.
