ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
BATHING FATALITY. Press Association. WELLINGTON, January 29. Daniel Rafferty, single, ;'.4 years of age, was drowned while bathing in the Manawatu Eiver at Moutoa, yesterday morning. The police recovered the body during the afternoon. At an inquest this morning a verdict of accidentally drowned was returned. Deceased came from* Melbourne, and was employed at the Whitanau flaxmill. FALL FROM A WINDOW. GISBOENE, January 29. Thomas Jones, aged 46, a horsetrainer, of Hastings, fell from a bedroom window in an hotel, and sustained injuries, from which he died. DROWNED IN A BATH. DUNEDIN, January 28. A sad fatality occurred on Saturday, when a 15-mouths'-old child, named Olive May Brown, whose parents reside in York Place, was drowned. The infant was with her mother in the front portion of the house, and while the parent was engaged in her work, the little one toddled through to the washhouse. The mother became alarmed at the child's absence, and found her a few minutes later face downwards in a bath containing about 4in of water.
