So Hellas Is grown old! Vainly wo dreamed, That counted her for Freedom and acclaimed Hi>r one- puissant valour; wo air sha mod That so have loved her we have almost deemed Hellas a name for Honour and esteemed Nothing more lovely than the land, which flamed Through the old world ideals that we have named "Greatest and noblest"—vainly we have dreamed. Hellas is dead!
