LATE PERSONALS.

Mr Gerad van tlcek has beeu appointed conductor at His Majesty's Theatre. For :i number of years he acted in a similar capacity with J. (■. Williamson, Ltd., and his violin solos, when a member of the " Get-Ric.h-Quick Wallingford" orchestra, are still pleasantly remembered. News has just been received of the death in action of Sub-Lieutenant L. \V. Bell, son of Mr C. W. Bell of Rangiora. Sub-Lieut. Bell was serving on a destroyer and lost his life in t4«e recent naval action.
