A BIG BALLOT. j As the next ballot of members of the First Division of the Reserve, to be drawn early in February, will be a double one, to enable the period | between ballot and mobilisation to! be lengthened it will contain about 10,000 names. That will bring the' total number of balloted men up to about 20,500, or approximately a] quarter of the number originally on the register of the First Division. ENLISTMENTS IN CHRISTCHURCH Recruiting in the Christehurch area group showed an apparent upward tendency yesterday, l(i men registering at the recruiting otlice. However, the rise was more apparent than real, as 10 of the registrations were for Samoa. The men who registered after The Sun went to press are:— Frederic* H. Warren, ill Madras Street, engineer.
