From Our Oicn Correnpoialinl On Tuesday evening there was a large gathering in the Islington Social Hall for the purpose of unveiling the roll of honour of the Islington Freezing Works, and of bidding farewell to Privates Moffatt, Wilson, K. Manhire, and .1. Miller, who were down on linal leave. Mr M. Kvans (whose only three sous are at the front) occupied the chair. .Mr ,1. Leslie, works manager, unveiled the roll of honour. The roll contains the names of 5S men, of whom live have paid the supreme sacrifice. Mr (..'. Witty. M.P., complimented the district on its fine effort. He spoke strongly on the subject of war profits, and said no one had a right to make fortunes out of the war. He also emphasised that on the return of onr soldiers it would be the duty of everyone to see that they were treated with justice, and that none should suffer for obeying the call of duty. He wished the young men who were going away (.iodspeod and a safe return. .Mr K. S. Watson, who has returned from England, where lie was engaged in war work, gave tin interesting address on the civilian war work in the Homeland. He [iaid a special tribute to the lady workers, and contrasted them with the idle few, who found nothing better to do than to walk round with a poodle on a string. Mr C. Read presented ea.h of the sol diets with a wristlet watch, and wished them till success and a safe return. Items were rendered by .\Hs>es Coulter, Ciequer, Turner, and Mr Avery. The evening was concluded with a dame, music being supplied bv Miss M. Coulter and Mr 1.. Croquer.
