As a protest against the high prices, housewives have begun a six weeks' boycott of butter and eggs. MEASURES IN CONGRESS. THE EMBARGO PROPOSALS. Australian and K.Z. Cable Association. WASHINGTON, December 4. At the opening of Congress many measures were read regarding the cost of living, including Mr Fitzgerald's proposed embargo upon the export of foodstuffs. Officials believe that Congress is opposed to the embargo.
