Gennadius, the Greek Minister at London, lias resigned as a protest against tlie Greek Government's policy. ATHENS, December 4. It is believed that a hot-headed reservist fired the first shot, starting Friday's battle. Admiral du Fournct was standing on the steps of the Zappeion, surrounded by French officers, when two Greek machine guns opened fire. Six officers were wounded. French destroyers carried out a brief bombardment as an outcome of the Greeks' firing against the Zappeion before Admiral du Fournet quitted the building. The bulk of the Allied contingents withdrew by night, under escort of Greek troops, but a number still remain at Piraeus. It is reported that the Allies lost 30 killed, with numerous other casualties. The Greek losses were heavier.
