DRASTIC STEPS
TO PUNISH GREECE
ALLIES WILL TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION BUCHAREST FORTS SHELLED STUBBORN RESISTANCE OFFERED TO INVADERS BRITISH CABINET TO BE RECONSTRUCTED The Allied Governments look upon the situation in Greece as extremely grave, considering that Constantine and his Government were involved in the happenings of Friday last. They are considering the question of taking immediate drastic steps to exact retribution. The Greek Minister at London has resigned as a protest against the Greek Government’s actions. The Germans claim that the Bucharest forts are under the fire of their guns. The Rumanians are retiring in the north-west, but are offering a stubborn resistance in the south-west. Mr Asquith has advised the King to reconstruct the Government, for the better prosecution of the war. Otherwise there have been no definite developments in the Cabinet crisis, although rumour is still exceedingly busy. Count von Bernstorff has been warned that there must be no more submarine activity in American waters.
