NORTHERN A. & P. ASSOCIATION.
The General Committee of the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association met this morning, Mr T. Leech (president) presiding over a good attendance of members. It was decided to pay over the sum of £519 13/4 to the Red Cross branch at Bangiora. An interim financial statement of the recent show showed that receipts including amounts received in connection with the Queen Contest were £4ll(i 10/10. The expenditure was 11371 3/1. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs Crtsswell, Johns, Foster, Clarkson, and the president was appointed to consider the merits of the different branches of the various patriotic, societies in the district, and to submit a recommendation of the percentage of profits to be allotted to the respective branches.
Mr A. S. Clarkson was elected a delegate to attend the meeting called to consider the Government's action in requisitioning the wool clip.
Mr T. R. Cresswell moved that the resolution should be rescinded which was passed on October 17, and which read:—"That 75 per cent, of the net profits of the show should be equally divided between the Bed Cross, Lady Liverpool, and Navy League Funds. The amounts payable to the Red Cross and Lady Liverpool Funds to be sub-divided among the various committees in the district in a manner to be decided by the association." Mr CresswelFs motion was seconded by Mr A. S. Clarkson, and carried.
