RAKAIA.

From Our Oxen Correspondent. A successful coneert and dance in aid of. the Bed Cross and Lady Liverpool Funds were held in the Chertsey Hall on Friday night. Local talent provided the programme, the leading item of which was a sketch "A Life for a Life,'' Messrs J. Smith. and P. Needham sustaining the leading parts. Many visitors were present from the surrounding districts. The dance music was provided by Airs Halliday, and Miss B. Downie, piano; Miss Halliday, violin; Mr J. Halliday. cornet, and Mr J. Behrns, accordeon. Mr Geo. Ellen acted as M.C.
