ADDINGTON BURGESSES.

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The monthly meeting of the Aldington Burgesses' Association was hold in the Dickens. Street Hall. Mr H. L. Jackson presided over an attendance of 23 members. The tramway shelter and the Cathedral Chapter's protest, against the erection of a shelter was discussed. It was decided to write to the City Council, stating tl: >t the association was keenly disappointed at the attitude of the Cathedral Chapter, and respectfully urged the City Council to proceed with any negotiations for the erection of a shelter. The motion was carried unanimously. Tt, was also decided to write to the City Council, asking for a copy of the dates of band concerts to be held on Jerrobl Street. Reserve this summer, in order that the association might advertise locallv. The Ladies' Committee wrote, offering to provide refreshments free of cost for the forthcoming social and euchre party to be held in St. Mary's Schoolroom on December 5. Tt decided to accept the offer with thanks. Tt, was decided to adjourn till the third Thursdav in February (the usual vacation), the secretary ami president to transact any business during the vacation. Two new members were elected.
