THE IMPERIAL PURCHASES. A3IENDED ARRANGEMENTS. „ Press Association. WELLINGTON, November 23. The "Gazette" to-night contains a statement of amended arrangements for f.o.b. purchase, on behalf of the Imperial Government, of all meat available for export as follows: The conditions laid down in the Prime Minister's notice, published in the "Gazette" of March 3, 1915, remain unaltered, except in respect of the following points:— (1) The classification of meat and the price to be paid therefor, f.0.b., will now be the description and prices now in operation:— Wethers, first quality, 721b and under 5| Wethers, first quality, over 721b and up to 851b 5j Wethers, first 'quality, over Bolb and up to 981b 4 J Subject to special approval by the Inspector:— Wethers, second quality 5| Ewes, first quality, 721b and under .. 4J Ewes, first quality, over 721b and up to
(2) These prices are fixed for the period of the war, and for at least three months after its termination. (3) These prices apply to all meat from stock slaughtered on or after October 20, 1916, and which is available for export. (4) Storage charges are reduced by 25 per cent, as from November 1, 1916. They will, therefore, now be as follows:—No storage shall be payable until after one month has expired, when the rate shall be 3-32 d per lb per calendar month, or any portion of a month, but the total storage for anv period shall not exceed 9.32 d per lb.
