IT IS HEREBY PUBLICLY NOTIFIED that the following RESOLUTION was ADOPTED at a Special Meeting of the Christchurch City Council, held in the City Council Chamber, situate in Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, at 9 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 21th day of October, 1916: That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1P08," and "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913," the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves, by Special Order, as follows: To borrow by way of Special Loan the sum of FIVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS (£5250) for the purpose of paying oil' part of the loan known as the Municipal Offices Loan of SIX THOUSAND POUNDS (£OOOOI falling due on the 30th day of DECEMBER, 1910. That a Special Rate of Eight-two hundred and ninety-thirds of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within Central Ward, as now constituted, of the City of Christchurch be pledged as security for the said loan and for providing a sinking fund of 2 per cent. in respect thereof. That the said loan shall have a currency of fifteen years and ten months and bear interest in the meantime at a rate not exceeding £5 5/- per centum per annum. That the provision for repayment be that the whole loan shall at the end of its period be repayable partly by means of a sinking fund. That it is not proposed to pay out of the loan the interest and sinking fund for the first year. And it is hereby further publicly notified that the foregoing Resolution will be SUBMITTED to an Ordinary Meeting of the Christchurch City Council, to be held in the City Council Chamber, situate in Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, at 7.30 o'clock p.m. on MONDAY, the 4th day of December, 1916, for CONFIRMATION as a SPECIAL ORDER. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN th t a POLL of the RATEPAYERS of the City of Christchurch and of all persons entitled to vote on any proposal of the Christchurch City Council to raise a loan in respect of the said City will be taken on WEDNESDAY, the 6th day of December, 1916, on the Proposal of the Christchurch City Council, as publicly notified in "The Sun" newspaper on the 27th day of October and the 3rd, 10th, and 17th days of November, 1916, to RAISE A SPECIAL LOAN of SIXTY THOUSAND POUNDS (£60,000) for the purpose of the further distribution and supply of Electricity from the Government Generating Station at Lake Coleridge and the Purchase and Erection of all Plant, Material, and things necessary aud incidental thereto. The said Poll will commence at 9 o'clock on the forenoon of the day appointed for the same and will close at 7 o'clock in the afternoon of the same day at the undermentioned Polling-places:— CENTRAL WARD.
