SHELLED BY SUBMARINE.

STEAMER'S NARROW ESCAPE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received November 22, 2.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 21. The British steamer Siamese Prince, which has arrived at New York, reports that she was shelled without warning by a submarine off the coast of France on November 4, while en route to Brest with a cargo of horses. Many Americans were in the crew. They did not see the submarine because of heavy weather. None of the shots were effective. The Siamese Prince steamed at full speed and escaped.
