The animal meeting or the Akaroa County Racing Club was held at the racecourse, Motukarara, on the 18th inst. There was a lair number of members present, the Hon. R. Hcaton Rhodes presiding. An apology for unavoidable absence was received from Mr J. F. Buchanan, the president, in which be expressed the opinion that the office or president should pass on to some other member for the current year. The election of officers resulted as follow:—Patron, Hon. R. Hcaton Rhodes; president, Mr W. F. Parkinson; lion, surgeon, I)r Palmer (Christchurch) and Dr Cook (Lincolnl ; auditor, Mr C. IT. Flavel; clerk of the course, Mr M. Nottingham; timekeeper, Mr J. A. Holmes; clerk of the scales, Mr A. Noal; judge, Mr John Parkinson; starter, Mi' A. Wood; and chairman of committees, Mr John Parkinson. Messrs J. Cossar and J. Rennie were added to the list of stewards and Messrs Keith Parkinson, and F. C. Rowely to the General Committee. Messrs Henrys and Rrinlunan were re-elected handieappers, Mr Buchanan lion. treasurer, and Mr Ouealy secretary. The audited balance-sheet was then considered, showing a credit balance of E205 13/11, less liabilities £3O B'-. This was adopted. Cast veai's programme was adopted, with the exception that the Waihora Park Trot (one mile and a-half) is to be a saddle race, and the Waircwa Trot a harness race, cod to be handicapped on the yards system. The annual race meeting was fixed for March :'.. 1017. Jt was resolved that steps be taken to erect a new totalisator house, at a cost not to exceed ITiOO, the following being elected a committee lo attend lo the matter: Messrs W. F.
