[Special to The Sun.] WELLINGTON, November 20. j "What is the proper procedure for | a man who is physically unfit and ! who is drawn in the ballot?" asks a j correspondent. "As far as I can j gather, the regulations say that the j authorities 'may direct' him to appear before a medical board. But what if they do not so direct him?" j Every reservist who is drawn in I the ballot will be required to go bej fore a medical board, and a man who knows himself to be unfit need not [take any steps in the matter at all. i He will be fold when to present himself for examination. "If you claim to be medically unfit for service," runs the official instruction to recruits, "this is a matter for a medical board. It is not necessary for you to give notice of a claim for 'exemption on this ground, and you will receive due notice of the lime j and place at which you are required j to present yourself for medical examination. You are bound to present I yourself for examination according- ! ly, whether you have given notice ol ' appeal or not."
