PRIVATE B. BATSTONE. Private Berlio Balstone, reported to be missing, is well known as an amateur athlete. In the l!)14-l. r ) NewZealand amateur championships, held in Wellington, he scored three
seconds, being beaten by only narrow margins in the 100 yds, 220 yds, and 140 yds. lie was a fine sprinter, capable of 10 l-ssec for 100 yds and 22 3-oscc for 220 yds. While in camp at Trentham he won the 100 yds and 220 yds military championships. Private Batstone is the second son of Mr (!. Batstone, now residing at 00 Fitzgerald Avenue, Christchiirch, but formerly of Kirwee, and is 20 years old. He left with the (ith Reinforcement, and saw service in Gallipoli. In June last he was wounded inaction in France.
