LATE PERSONALS.
Cable advice has been received that Corporal T. B. Cargill, late of the Union Bank, Christehureh, and of 14 Onslow Street, St. Albans, who left with the 9th Reinforcement, anil who was wounded on October 1, is convalescing in the New Zealand Broekenhurst Hospital, England. Corporal Cargill was in hospital in France until November 7, but was subsequently sent on to England, suffering from trench fever. There was a large gathering in the Springfield hall on Friday evening to hid au revoir to Trooper W. Milliken, who leaves shortly with the 20th Reinforcement. Dancing was kept going till an earlv hour to music supplied by Miss B. Mcllrath and Mr S. Qunife. During an interval Mr 11. Mcllrath spoke of the high esteem in which Trooper Milliken was held, and, on behalf of the residents, presented him with a safety razor. Recent additions to the Museum include two very line moss agates, presented by. Mr J. H. Seagor. These are varieties of chalcedony, and have a peculiar inclusion, due to the preseuceof iron oxide, which takes the form of a mossy growth. The finest specimens of moss agates come from Scotland. Other additions include quartz fragments from the summit of Mount Ida, presented by Professor A. Wall, and hj clip of bullets taken from a Turkish prisoner during one of the tights against the Sennussi. A relic, of the Boer war, in the shape of a copy of the "Norfolk Buster," a__publication printed on the troopship Norfolk, May 2."., 1902, has been presented bv "Mr H. A. Black.
