ROWING.
CONTRIBUTIONS TO "OUR DAY" FUND. The associated rowing clubs of Christchurch have forwarded the sum of £3l 12/10 to the secretary of "Our Day" Fund, being the proceeds of the collections on the opening day of the boating season, October 21. This amount was made up as follows:—Collected by ladies on the river banks £lO 9/10, Union Rowing Club £lO 10/4, Canterbury Rowing Club £5 9/2, Avon Rowing Club £5. 16/-, together with the sum of £3 3/-, being the prize given for the best decorated boat and most original Darktown crew, which prize was handed back by the winners. The total amount collected was £35 8/4, which, after deducting £3 15/6 for expenses, leaves the above amount of £3l 12/10.
