PROTEST AGAINST PROLONGATION. SYDNEY, November 15. A big demonstration in the Town Hall to-night protested against the proposal to prolong the life of the State Parliament. (Received November 16, 10.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, November IG. At the conclusion of the meeting to protest against the prolongation of Parliament, a crowd of 3000 marched to Parliament House to present the resolution, and found that the House had adjourned. After a demonstration against the Government, the crowd dispersed.

HOLMAN HAS MAJORITY. AN OPPOSITION THREAT. SYDNEY, November 16. In the House of Assembly the Premier (Mr W. A. Holman) tested the strength of the new opposition on a motion for the adjournment, by leading his followers from the Chamber, when the House was counted out. During the debate, Mr McGirr said that because of the attitude of Mr Holman in forming a National party, the people were taking up a lawless attitude, as the Government did not represent them. Mr Holman would not be able to hide from the electors by staying in Parliament, as a provisional Government would be formed.
