Silver.—3l 3-16 d per oz. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. The Higb Commissioner reported as follows on November 11 (unless otherwise specified, the prices are the average market prices, on spot) : Meat.—All descriptions of frozen meat arc in slow demand, and prices are unchanged, owing to large supplies of Home-killed mutton and beef and English lamb. New Zealand mutton Bj!d per lh, New Zealand lamb Old; Argentine mutton, heavy-weight Bd, light-weight BJd; New Zealand hull beef, hinds 7Jd, fores 6£d; Argentine chilled beef, hinds BSd, fores Tijd. Butter.—The market continues firm. Offerings from all sources are small, and prices are higher. Danish (medium grades are in good demand). New Zealand, salted 202/- to 201/-; American creamery (in good demand), salted 100/- to 192/-; Argentine, salted 198/- to 200/-, unsalted 200/- to 200/-. Cheese.—The market is active, and is advancing. Canadian, white 11C>/- to 120/- per cwt, coloured 110/- to 120/-; English Cheddar, 128/- to 130/-. New Zealand stocks are exhausted, and there are no official quotations. United States Hats, while, 115/- to 117/-. Hemp.—The market is quiet, but firm. Good, fair New Zealand hemp £53 per ton, fair £sl; Government-graded, fair Manila £sl 10,'-, coarse £sl 10/-; January-March shipment, good fair Manila £53 10/-, coarse £SO 10/-. The output of hemp from Manila for the week ended last Saturday was 2100 bales, 'fhe stocks of New Zealand hemp on hand al the end of October were 585 tons. Wheat. —The market is firm and unsettled, and I cannot quote, as a quotation would be misleading. Oats. —The market remains firm, and prices have slightly advanced for all grades. New Zealand 10/-, on spot.
