To the Editor of THE SON. Sir —Several highly respected citizens have been delivering addresses at the various theatres in favour of voluntary recruiting and the result has been negligible. As volunteers are wanted, I would suggest that the women should combine and let the men who are capable of enlisting know that they will not soil their ungloved hand by touching the hand of a man who continues to shirk. If the fair sex did this, the men, I think, would come in quickly enough to fill the draffs without any Government compulsion.—l am.etc, VOLUNTARYISM.
