Tin' Allied demands were dictated hy the disposition of the fleet, which menaced (lie Allied squadron, and the concentration of troops in the interior, which constituted a danger to the Allied army. It was reported in London >esterday that trenches were being dug along the Pineus-Larissa railway, and that Ihe King's palace at Larissa was being prepared and 50,<t00 Greek troops were being concentrated. The Allied demands followed hot upon these rumours, and have aroused a profound sensation throughout Greece. But the whole operation was carried out without excitement in Athens or the Piraeus. The Allies have taken 33 ships, excluding 11 destroyers, six modern torpedo boats, four gunboats, and two submarines, which will apparently be handed to the provisional Government.
