SCHOOL GIRLS' WORK.
The Plunket Society intends making a ilisplay of baby garments in the
Chamber of Commerce on Friday, October i;;th. For the last two years the society has been sending to Kngland Babies' Outfits for the children of British soldiers and sailors. Karly rhis year, several of the girls' schools became interested in the work, and last term the High School girls, under the very capable guidance of Miss Burns, started to make garments, and Miss Gibson has now handed over to the Blanket Society about 16 complete outfits, in all some 30(1 garments—all most beautifully made ami finished. The Technical College girls, under Miss Partridge, are also sending admirable outfits, and the Girls' Hostel, under Mrs Gar.l 'ner, some splendid garments. The Society is anxious that the public should see the splendid results ;rom Ihese schools, not only for ihe very fine war work which it covers, but for the groat educational value it is to the girls to make pretty as well as warm and servieable baby clothes. At the Technical the lads of the School helped to provide material for the girls to make up. The exhibition will be and to give business people a chance to see it, it will he open from 11 a.m. to •" p.m.
