ARTILLERYMEN NOT WANTED.

THE MOTOR PATROL. ______ [Special to The Sun.] WELLINGTON, October 7. Artillery reinforcements arc not required for some months to come, owing to the accumulated reserves at the front, and the comparative smallncss.of the artillery casualties. The position regarding the artillery drafts in camp is uncertain. Suggestions for transfer to the infantry have been made to the men, but no definite decision has been reached. Complaint is made locally that the Defence authorities are placing obstacles in the way of enlistments of men for the motor boat patrol. Permits have been withheld in the cases of some men accepted by the Admiralty representatives.

ENLISTMENTS IN CHRISTCHURCH

There were 14 registrations for enlistment at the Christchurch area group recruiting ottice yesterday. The men who registered after The Sun went to press are:— Arthur S. Crowe, South British Insurance Company; Christchurch, clerk. Herbert 1.. Flntayson, 75 Hanson's Boud, Upper lUccurton, cabinetmaker. Harold A. Vinlayson, 75 Hanson's Road, Upper Riceartnn, cabinetmaker. And seven others, who desire that their names be not published. TO-DAY'S LIST. Joseph P. SHIFTING THE RECRUITING OFFICE.

Once more the Christchurch area group recruiting ottice is to be shifted. From about the 18th inst. it will be located in tfte rooms in Hereford Street, at present occupied by the Citizens' Defence Corps, which will shift to smaller offices a little nearer Colombo Street. The recruiting ottice will then be in much more commodious premises than it has at present.
