SCOTTISH AND IRISH BATTALIONS FIGHT WELL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received October 6, 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, October 5. The War Office reports from Saloniea: —After the complete capture of Jenikoi we spent the remainder of Wednesday consolidating our new positions from the Orljak bridge along the Seres Road to Jenikoi, and thence back to the river through the Karakzakoi villages. The Lowland Scottish and the Irish battalions especially distinguished themselves in the recent fighting. The enemy suffered heavily.
