SWIMMING.
THE LINWOOD CLUB.
In the report which It will present to the club's annual meeting, the committee of the Linwood Amateur Swimming Club remarks that it can hardly say that the club is in a flourishing state, but in the present abnormal conditions the position can be taken as quite satisfactory. .
The members of the club, who have enlisted for active service number 2~). They are:—C. L. An!lev, .7. E. Adams, F. Brettell, L. E. Bullock, M. W. Cotnpton, D. Coates, G. Chrvstall, E. 0. Fox, R. Fitch, F. W. Gurusey, A. G. Gurasey, B. Home, F. Holloway, F. C. Harris, C. Johnston, F. Ki'ddev," H. R. Matthews, L. C. Newman. 0. B. Phillips, E. Farlett, S. .A. Smith, W. Tenneut, ,N. Veruall, W. H. Wilson, and A. V. Whitta.
These men who have enlisted include three successive secretaries of the club —Messrs Matthews, Smith, and Johnston —and the club is now without a secretary. All who have enlisted have been made honorary members until the end of the financial year in which they return and are discharged. Apart from them, there are 15 senior members, seven juniors, and 15 ladies.
The club has a Credit balance of tl<> 4/9.
