The Defender sails for Wellington. Plcton, mid Hokltlkn <m Saturday. The Wakatu arrives from Kaikoura tomorrow, and sails on her return on Monday. The Karamu went on the slip at Wellington yesterday morning for overhaul. The Melbourne Steamship Company's steamer Perth, which arrived at Wellington on Wednesday from liusselton (West Australia), with timber, conies on to Lyttelto'n after discharge at the northern port. The vessel will put out about 500,000 ft of timber here. Captain McDonald is still in command, and has with him the following officers: Chief, Mr Woolcott; second, Mr McDonald; third.
