KUROW JOCKEY CLUB. The Annual Meeting of the Kurow Jockey Club was held yesterday in fine weather. There was a satisfactory attendance, and the course was in good order. Speculation was fairly brisk, the sum of £9,584 being bandied by the totalisator stall', as against 0-lflG last year. Details of the concluding events are:
WAITAKI TBOT, of 100 sovs. One mile and a-half.— 1 Sally Brass 7 S ec (J. Bryec) 1, 2 Stanley's Discovery 7sec 2, 1 lioval George set- 3. Also started: 5 Forest Child Gsec, 8 Norman Stanley 7, 7 Te Aka 7, 10 Petard 8, 4 Mono Ariki 8, and 3 Coalition 8. Won by 80 yards, eight lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 44sec.
TRIAL PLATE, of 70 sovs. Four furlongs. —3 Bell rock 8.10 (F. E. Jones) 1, 5 War Hawk 8.10 2, 10 Bed River 8.10 3. Also staited: 8 Meccano 8.10, 2 The White King 8.10, (i Swale 8.10, i) Cigarette 8.10, 1 h'illard 8.10, 7 Leaping Burn 8.10, and 1 Trentham Rose 7.10. Trentham Rose took charge entering the straight, but at the distance Bellrock came away and won cleverly by a long length, three-parts of a neck between second and third. Time, 50sec. WELTER HACK HANDICAP, of 80 sovs. One mile and a-quarter.—l British Rose 8.7 (F. E. Jones) 1, 3 Bellshire 0.0 2, 2 Moneymaker 9.4 3. The only starters. Bellshire led for half a mile, when he was joined by Moneymaker. British Rose came from the back over the last furlong, and won by a length, a head separating second and third. Time, 2min 0 2-ssec. DASH TROT, of 70 sovs. One mile.— 1 Stanley's Discovery , r >scc (R. Logan) 1, 1 Coalition Gsec 2, Hono Ariki Gsec 3. Also started: 3 Mavis ~ i sec, 0 Little Roderick . r >, and 4 Myola (i. Won by two lengths, 10 lengths between second and third. Time, 2min 21) l-ssec.
BELFIELD HANDICAP, of 15 sovs. Five furlongs.—4 Bon G. 13 (R. Rcid) 1, 1 Parlovna 8.0 2, 3 Oxenhope 10.0 3. Also started: 2 Aerial 0.5 and 5 Finless 7.7. Parlovna led into the straight, when Bon overhauled her and won by a bead, half a length separating second and third. Time, lniin 2 l-ssec.
