LADY LIVERPOOL FUND
' The committee of the Liverpool Patriotic Fund desires to acknowledge, with many thanks, receipt of the following aifts in kind:—Opawa School, Timaru Branch, Sefton and Bah-aim Branch ■'per Mrs Druinmoud Bailevi, Rangiorj Branch. Sheffield Branch (per K. Me Donald), Irwell School (per L. J. Thwaitcs). Mrs F. E. Hyman, Mrs Maurice Tweedie. F. Bowlker. Cash donations: —Tai Tapu Branch (monthly) £5. On Saturday next, the 7th inst.. th« Liverpool Depot. 644 Colomlto Street, will tie closed all day for spring cleaning. A committee meeting was held in th« Lady Liverpool office yesterday. Present: Mrs llastie, Mrs Paterson. Mrs Jenkins. Mrs Morgan, Miss Harris. Miss Mandl, Mr Maynard. Mr Bamett, sen., Mr Barnett. jun., Mr McDougall, and Mr Bolton. The following further offers of gssit-ant-e were received and gratefully accepted:— Messrs J. M. Hey ward and Co., assistance in carting; Mr Bolton (Crown Brewery), supply of sacks foi removing bottles from the schools; Messrs Hayward Bros., supply of crates for carriage of bottles; all chemists ir the city and suburbs, windov.- displays. The collection of bottles is going oi very satisfactorily. One of the smalle] schools has already collected 1000 bottles,, and it is hoped that the largei schools will respond proportionately. The committee hopes that as enthusiasm grows among the school children thl collection of bottles will go on rapidly, and that the result will be a total of not less than 10.000 dozen bottles.
