GUILTY OF MANSLAUGHTER.
Press Association. WELLINGTON, October 2. In the Supreme Court to-day, Ernest ('has. Jewell Devoin was tried on a charge of the murder of Louisa White, in Nairn Street Reserve, on May 14. After four hours' retirement, the jury returned a verdict of guilty of , manslaughter, and recommended that the maximum penalty be imposed. .Sentence was deferred.
