ENEMY DEFEATED AND PRISONERS TAKEN. CAUCASUS QUIET. Australian and X.Z. Cubic Association. (Received October 3, 10.0.j a.m.) LONDON, October 2. A Russian communique says:—-"Stubborn fighting continues Pt Nariuvka and Zlota Lipa. Our fire repelled counter-attacks with great losses. We look- prisoner 1600 Austro-Gcrinans and Turks. We defeated advance guards at Bystritza. General Letchitsky. between September 10 and 28, took prisoner 2GOO men in the Carpathians, in addition to much booty. Matters are quiet in the Caucasus.
