HOCKEY.
THE CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Canterbury Hockey Association was held last evening. There were present: Messrs W. Simpson (president), W. H. Town, E. N. Smith, W. Chappell, and P. Agar (hon. secretary) The Christclmrch Club protested that the Sj'denham fourth grade team had played two players who were not registered in the grade. The matter was left, in the hands of the president. The second competition in the second grade was awarded to the Selwyn team. Mr W. 11. Down offered his resignation as treasurer to the association, owing to his having enlisted. It was agreed that Mr Down should be granted leave of absence, for the duration of the war, and tfiat the committee's appreciation of his services should be recorded. Mr R. P. Granger was appointed acting-treasurer. The committee decided that all cups should be handed over to the president, for distribution. It was decided that the final match in the fourth grade competition, between Sydenham and Christclmrch, should be played at Lancaster Park next Saturday.
