PITIABLE CASES.

FEEBLE-MINDED CHILDREN

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION TO BE GIVEN. Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 24. The Hon. J. A. Hanan, Minister of Education, stated to-day that the medical inspection of school children was bringing to light a number of pitiable cases of feeble-minded children, for whom better provision than at present exists is required. In one district lately inspected a family of 12 children was found, in which all the children were more or less feeble-minded. The matter ought to be dealt with in a thorough, comprehensive manner, but first it was necessary to ascertain how many such cases there were in the Dominion requiring special treatment, in institutions. The matter now is receiving consideration.
