INTER-HIGH SCHOOL MATCH.
TIMARU DEFEATS WAITAKI. (sp*cial to The Sun.] OAMARU, August 11). The inter-High Schools' football match Tiniaru v. Waitaki was played here to-day in wet weather. The ground was a quagmire. The heavier weights of the Tiniaru team told against the Waitakians, who rarely developed an offensive. It was a slow, forward game, relieved by occasional kicking by Hardy or Elder for Waitaki, and Robertson or Thomas for Tiniaru. There was no score in the first spell, but early in the second half Thomas notched a try for Timaru. Scott's kick failed. From a penally, Cook placed a good goal. The game ended: Tiniaru 0, Waitaki U.
