In the House of Commons the Pars liament and Local Elections Bill, which prolongs the life of Parliament, met with some adverse criticism on the ground that it unduly extended the period of the Government's life. In Committee, the date to which Parliament is extended was altered—from May 31 to April 30. The Bill was read a third time and passed.
