From Our Own Correspondent. On Tuesday evening a most Buecess- | ful patriotic social took place in the Anuat Orange Hall. The efforts of the committee were well rewarded. During • the evening songs were contributed by | Misses Kennard and Edna Atkinson. i Highland dances were given by Master I John Pelvin. Supper, provided by the i ladies, was handed round, and dancing ! was indulged in. The music, was supplied by Mr King (piano), assisted by j Messrs 11. Millar (violin) and C Smith ; (accordeon). A sum of over £6 10/was obtained, and this is to be given Ito the work of the Y.M.C.A. at the various military camps. On Monday evening a farewell social jwas held at Russell's Flat to bid God I speed to Private J. A. Berry, who is on his final leave. Dancing was indulged • in, the music being supplied by Miss M. Atkinson and Mr C. Smith, of Eowai Bush. Songs were contributed by Misses E. Atkinson, I. Jackson, and G. Kennard, and a recitation was given bv IMr G. Williams. After supper Mr B. |0 ! Shaughnessy, of Springfield, presentled Private Berry, on behalf of the residents of the district, with a safety \ razor, a leather money belt, and a soljdier's pocket-book.
