WON IN SIX ROUNDS.

CLABBY DEFEATS HOLLAND. in the sixth round of a contest, that was developing into a thorough exhibition of highly scientific boxing, "Jimmy" Olabby Mist, lib) secured the verdict, over "Fritz" Holland (list 51b) at the Stadium on Saturday evening (savs the Melbourne "Age'"' of July l(i). The popularity of both boxers has grown apace with their noted ring achievements, and about .'SOOO spectators were settling themselves down to witnessing the best that the science side of the sport provides, when the fateful punch came. It was a. punch low down. W-vy few saw it, for the boxers were hinting well in, and it is open to question whether Holland was justified in falling to it, for examination evidently satisfied the ring doctor that it. had not been serious. Holland's quick recovorv supported his views, 'the punch, never Uieless, finished the contest. Krom the commencement Clabby showed far more versatility than his opponent, and in the short range work exhibited splendid skill with both hands, The "loop the loop" punch was brought into action frequently, and Clabby was cheered for his success with it. Holland was a slow beginner; he got in some very neat punches in the infighting, and occasionally a left or two at long range. The last two rounds were easily his best.
